Kiruna Wagon's ore wagon F050 is nominated for the Swedish Steel Prize 2008. SSAB annually awards the Swedish Steel Prize, often called "The Nobel Prize of Steel", to companies, institutions, organisations and individuals who open new paths towards development and improvement. Kiruna Wagon has introduced a new graphic profile. The graphic profile is inspired by the iron ore's path through history and its significance in the present. The core elements of the new logotype are two stylised iron ore wagons. One wagon is blue, representing the subarctic light of our local region, the other wagon is brown, representing the wagon's protecting coat of oxide. The new welding robot from IGM is one of the largest in Europe. It has a 4x4x10 metre working area and capacity for weights up to 20 tonnes. The investment of just over SEK 9 million will further reinforce Kiruna Wagon’s position as a supplier of the most cost-efficient products for transporting iron ore.
