LKAB has signed an agreement with Kiruna Wagon to purchase an additional 21 underground wagons for the Kiruna Mine's new main level. The new order is an extension of a previous order for 121 wagons, which was signed in 2010. Type approval has been granted on schedule for FAMMRR121manufactured for Northland Resources. The wagon, which is of the Helix Dumper type, has been in traffic since 2013 on a temporary permit and has now been given its permanent approval by the Swedish Transport Administration for operation on Swedish railways, and by Norwegian Jernbaneverket for operation on railways in Norway. The type approval means that the Helix Dumper system is now fully developed and approved for these markets. Kiruna Wagon has delivered the first of 40 Bottom Dumpers to Norwegian mining company Rana Gruber AS. The wagon was presented at a delivery ceremony in Mo i Rana, which was attended, among others, by Lisbeth Berg-Hansen who is a Nordland representative to the Norwegian Parliament. Kiruna Wagon has been chosen to produce 40 ore wagons for Norwegian mining company Rana Gruber AS. The contract was signed on May 23, at the Meyergården in Mo i Rana, Norway. Celebration to mark 1000 wagons delivered to LKAB

A milestone was passed today with the delivery of the 1000th ore wagon F050 to LKAB, in the major industrial project that began in June 2004. LKAB's ore wagon F050 is constructed and built in Sweden. Kockums Industries in Malmö manufactures the frame, braking systems and assembles the bogies, while the basket and hatch are manufactured by Kiruna Wagon, which also carries out the final assembly of the wagon in Kiruna. Kiruna Wagon signs wagon order with Northland Resources

Kiruna Wagon has signed an order for 150 iron ore wagons with international mining company Northland Resources. The wagons are scheduled for delivery between January 1, 2013 and May 5, 2014. “With this order we consolidate our position as a top supplier to modern mining companies that demand cost-effective ore transport solutions of world-class,” said Fredrik Kangas, Operations Manager at Kiruna Wagon. Kiruna Wagon has received an order to produce 121 iron ore wagons for LKAB's new main level, located on 1,365 meters below ground. The wagons will be produced between 2011–2015 and means another long-term project for Kiruna Wagon. Sweden's Minister for Trade, Mrs. Ewa Björling, has visited Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad and Kiruna Wagon in Kiruna. The special focus of the Minister’s trip to Kiruna was Sweden-Norway trade relations but during her visit to Kiruna Wagon the consortium’s broader international focus was also discussed. Extended production of pellets wagon F050 for LKAB

LKAB will increase its order for 760 pellets wagon F050 with an additional 74 wagons – meaning another complete set of trains. Behind the order is a growing transportation need, as LKAB continues to work towards the goal of delivering 37 million tonnes of finished products per year. For Kiruna Wagon the wagon order means a continued series production of pellets wagon F050 until spring 2011. Pellets wagon F050 is a Bottom Dumper that transports iron ore from the LKAB Kiruna Mine in Sweden to the Port of Narvik in Norway.

Kiruna Wagon builds copper concentrate wagons for Boliden

Kiruna Wagon has signed an agreement with Boliden for the manufacturing of 25 concentrate wagons. The wagon will be a closed, environmentally safe solution with a carrying capacity of 73 tonnes. When Boliden's Aitik Mine increases the production of copper concentrate, the new transport volume will reach levels of about 375,000 tonnes per year, which is equal to 1,075 tonnes per day.
