Kiruna Wagon has signed agreement with Egyptian Tahawy Rail for development and licensed manufacturing of self-discharging Side Dumper wagons. Kiruna Wagon’s licensed partner in North Africa and Middle East, Tahawy Rail, has won the procurement from Egyptian National Railway (ENR) to deliver 300 self-discharging Side Dumper wagons. Kiruna Wagon and Boliden have signed a new agreement for the maintenance of Boliden's Side Dumper wagon, Taimn091. The agreement is a milestone in the long-term collaboration between the companies. Commenting on the agreement, Kiruna Wagon's Service and Maintenance Manager, Mattias Gustafsson, said: “We are proud of our partnership with Boliden and see the renewed agreement as proof that our long-term collaboration works well. We work with all of their logistics players to increase quality and reduce Boliden's total costs, all the way from loading to unloading. After completion of prototype development and testing, Kiruna Wagon is now ready to commence serial production of bottom doors for 76 grain wagons for Egyptian National Railways (ENR). The unloading design consists of a bottom-dumping solution with two doors on each side of the grain wagon. The two door pairs are opened individually, which makes it possible to empty the goods on either side at a time.
